Proverbs 31:28-31
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”
Many will start, but few will finish. Many will begin a new journey with perfectly sincere intentions of following through with their commitments, yet they will fail and quit. Their failure is not that they were imperfect, but that they never got up after falling. The end of Proverbs 31 tells what this prized virtuous woman received because she followed through with her commitments. This is her reward.
Her Home- Your primary responsibility begins with those in your home. For a mother to be praised by her children (especially when they are grown) is one of life’s greatest accomplishments.
Her Husband- The one that knows her best praises her. Despite her shortcomings, she is loved and respected. Men can tear down their wives with their words and actions. There is much power in a man that praises his wife, and vice versa.
Her Honor- A woman that fears the Lord is the Christian that the Lord gives honor to. She is praised, but not only by men, but also by the Lord.
Her Harvest- Her fruit comes as the reward of her labor. She didn’t win the lottery by luck. She was diligent in her business as a child of God, and fruit was earned that God gave her.
Wisdom for the Day: When you make a commitment, keep the end in mind. Ponder the end and determine to be faithful to your decisions.
